Hey High Rollers! It’s been quite a while since we posted our last update on everything going on in the world of FMIV; so what better time to change that than right now?!
First off, our online merch store is back up and running! We have FMIV or GTFO tank tops, FMIV booty shorts, and personalized love letters. We’re also going to have some new designs and different types of merch printed up over the next few months. We really need your help finding homes for the current merch we have to make room for the new stuff we want to get printed! Anything FMIV makes for a great stocking stuffer! A lot of exciting things have been happening for us over the past few months. We are currently in the process of filming a music video for our single “Is Anyone Up”. The video crew filming this for us released a preview of the footage we shot in September to get our feedback on what should be different in the full production footage. The preview made it’s way to Hunter Moore, owner of the website IsAnyoneUp . com, which he posted to the site generating a lot of hype for the full version of the video. Last night we reshot all of the live performance footage and can’t even begin to express how stoked we are with how everything is coming out! This Sunday we will be shooting the storyline footage which should wrap the filming side of the video and a few weeks after that the editing should be finished. As the release of the video is getting closer we’re only getting more excited for you guys to see it and hope you are too!
We are now managed by Steve O of Dark Horse Percussion/Alien Ears. He has worked with a lot of amazing bands including New Found Glory, We Are The In Crowd, The After Party, Just Surrender, and many others. We’re extremely excited about everything that he’s been doing to help the band develop and ultimately further our career as a band. He’s also going to help us get to your cities so that we can all finally party together! Long story short he’s the man and we’re ecstatic to have him be a part of the FMIV family!
In January we will be going down to New York City to record a new 5 song EP with producer Christian Medice (New County, Glory Days, & more). We’ve been hard at work writing/rewriting these new songs to make them our absolute possible best work yet. If you’ve been to any of our recent Stickam webcasts you just may have heard a few of the rough ideas we have in mind for this next EP. We can’t wait for you guys to hear everything once it’s all finished and released!
Finally we’d like to announce that we have mutually parted ways with our guitarist Kevin Harrington and our drummer Mike Adams. As the band has gotten more serious over the past few months, with the opportunities that have come our way, we all decided that it’d be best for the band to continue on this journey without Kevin and Mike. We want to assure you that this will by no means have a negative impact on Forget Me In Vegas or our music. Chris and I (Jamie) have always written the majority of the music for this band and will continue to do so until the end of time. Our sound will still be what you know and love us for and we can’t wait to share our new material with you! We would like you all to welcome our new guitarist Justin Hughes and our new bassist Garrett Chamberlain to the FMIV family. We’re really excited to have them onboard with us as this continues to grow. We are currently looking for a new full time drummer but while we’re in search of the right one, our old drummer Kyle Vorbach will be filling in as much as his schedule allows before he departs for school next semester.
This band wouldn’t be anywhere without your undying support. The high rollers are the BEST fans out there and we wouldn’t trade you guys for the world. Forget Me In Vegas Video Contest Tres
The Low-Down:
For our third video contest we decided it’d be really awesome to have you guys go around to public places (the mall, local concerts, school, work, etc) and promote our band whether it be through word of mouth, walking around with our music on an iPod with headphones having people listen to our music, handing out flyers, burning and giving away copies of our EP, anything really. Just film yourself spreading the good word and you’ve got this contest on lock! We also thought it’d be really cool if you had in the video a mashup of the different people you’ve promoted us too saying what they thought of our music or even if they haven’t heard it yet, just them saying “Forget Me In Vegas is AWESOME” or something along those lines. Entries for this contest will be accepted via Facebook and Twitter (just send us a tweet with the link to your video or just post it on our Facebook wall). Entries will be accepted until the night of November 23, 2011 so you have a month to get wild! We’ll be announcing the winner(s) on November 30, 2011.
Prize:
The winner we select will receive 1 FMIV or GTFO Tank Top and a pair of FMIV booty shorts as well as a signed photo of the band. (If a group of friends makes an entry and ends up being the winner- Unfortunately, we can’t afford to send out a huge group of free prizes but you’ll still get one tank top, one pair of shorts, and a signed photo of the band for each member in your group.)
Think outside of the box, be creative, have fun, and try to stay out of trouble. We know everything that you guys submit will be awesome! #highrollersrule
Forget Me In Vegas Video Contest Part Deux
For this video contest we want you to make a video of yourself lip-syncing “Fall In Like” in random areas. In example: a forest, the apple store, the mall, at a hockey game, get creative because the most creative video will win one of Jamie’s hats that you all love or one of Chris’ headbands that he’s worn on stickam/shows/etc as well as a signed photo of the band, all glossylike.
Also a winner will be selected for the most original FMIV video that you can come up with. Pretty much make anything as long as its about us! We’ll chose one winner to get the same prize as the part above!
The contest will be closed on May 1st and the winners will be announced on May 4th (Jamie’s 20th birthday) so get cracking, get creative and make this awesome! Thanks everyone!
